Step 1 - scribed as specified, existing wood or own wishes

Please use a more solid wood, such as beech or oak. The relatively soft pine / spruce glued tends quickly to spalling and is not suitable. Step 3 - Drilling of items

The drilling of the component parts should preferably be carried out on a bench drill or a drill press stand, since any deviation determines the later image.

Set up for this purpose a stop one that guarantees a central bore of the strips. The lateral alignment is based on the remaining center marker. When drilling the lateral oblique cut surfaces must always point downwards. Step 5 - shapes of the base plate

We decided with our model for a slightly thicker and round disk with a diameter of about 150 mm, which fits very well visually to the tree. What is important is a central bore of 8 mm, with a Forstner bit to a diameter of about 16 mm and a depth of at least 10 mm is reduced additionally. The reduction is used to receive a washer and a nut with a M8 thread. The diameter of 16 mm refers to a commercially available 13 mm socket wrench, with which the nut can be tightened. A lot of power but this is not required, so that the mother can also be easily held with fingers.

Step 6 - Adjusting the threaded rod
